Jonathon Chait writes in an article in the LA Times dated yesterday that the Democrats can't let "the Left" defeat Lieberman.  Why? Because the Senator

"is a self-righteous suck-up who lends President Bush undeserved credibility."

What's the biggest threat facing America today?  Some of us say terrorism, others think it's drug trafficers, and some of us worry more about good old homegrown violence. But that's why we're not Attorney General.

An article at Law.com reports that the new U.S. Attorney for Miami, Alex Acosta, has made pornography involving consenting adults the main priority for his office, over the objections of Justice Department staff and outsiders.  This is apparently a "mandate" straight from Alberto Gonzales.

I've read a number of stories suggesting the U.S. is looking to extend the war in the Middle East, but I've never seen a convincing explanation of how that might happen.  Now I'm worried we may be seeing the camel's nose under the tent.
